In the design, an intervention was defined that develops by embracing the existing buildings of the primary school and the gym and redefining a space of higher quality. The intention is to give a new unity to the school and sports complex, intervening in a gentle, non-aggressive way, working on the less happy clippings of the state of fact. In the design, an eco-sustainable approach was adopted, aiming to leave as much as possible of the available green area, trying to enhance its spaces. It is in this perspective that the new volumes of the middle school have been chosen to be built largely above those of the primary school. In this way you did not go to “consume” the green spaces with the new built. In addition, using the garden roof solution (at the classrooms and above the main hall and offices) in a part of the new building, we have obtained a green area within the new school complex, even greater than the present state of affairs.
