Formigine
The historical core of the village, with origins presumably in the ninth century, has lost its identity as a castle-village over time, the project therefore intends to enhance the remaining traces of noble origins, mainly through a “hierarchy of use of public spaces” of the historical core, starting from the parish church (dating back to the Middle Ages), the rectory and the oratory, which characterize the history of Magreta. From this hub, redeveloped into “relation spaces” through a general design of pavements, public greenery and furnishings, we radiate through controlled pedestrian perspectives – on one side towards the residential areas and on the other, near the stream “Pit” to the commercial areas where three new project buildings have been placed. At the same time, the Urban Traffic Plan was redefined.
